Default What electrical tool to use?

Im checking the wiring in my jetta cause obviously something isnt right when none of the interior lights nor lock pump is working. My hope is to get rid of the Hardwired button that starts the car and the fans bypassing the fuse box.

So im looking for a tool that can tell me if electricity is going through the wires at certain areas around the car.

But im not sure what tool im looking for, or how to use it haha.
