Default Engine Oil light problem


Hey folks, how come my engine oil light keep blinking when the car is warmed up and it stays on when im going to drive? (while driving) any idea why is it doing this?

Have you checked your oil? Could be low or could be something wrong with the oil pressure sensor. If its OBD2 (96-present) you can try and check for codes.

you have a Short circuit somewhere or the oil sending unit is bad
low oil pressure. the oil change intervals has been neglected. if the oil is left there more than what car manufacturer recommends then severe tear and wear has finally caught up with bad maintenance. cheap engine oil aggravates this condition.

have the car inspected by a good mechanic for proper oil pressure. if the car has oil but there is a bad main/rod bearing then the oil pump will lose pressure thus oil light comes on. if the car is driven like that (low oil pressure) then expect the engine to blow or seize. a.k.a engine knock.
