Default check engine light

The check engine light in my 97 BMW 318i is on . I plugged the computer in and 9 codes popped up . Multiple engine misfire, cylinder 1 misfire , cylinder 4 misfire . 02 bank 1 sensor , 02 bank 2 sensor . Massairflow sensor , and 2 codes for ( it said check manual) . But when I pull the wires off the spark plugs they all seem to be firing . I don't think the mass airflow sensor is bad because it not running shitty . I tried replacing the airflow sensor with another one and the engine started bogging down . So I just put the old one in and it seems to be running fine . I was wondering if anyone had some good advice for me on what I should do ?

Reminds me of a joke.
A blonde goes to a doctor and she is complaining about pain all over her body. She says: "when i touch here it is is sore, and also here, and also when I touch this part its sore"
The doctor then responds: "you have a broken finger"

Basically (I don't know if this happens) but maybe your computer is broken...

Have you been messing with any wiring lately? if you are messing with wiring and short circuit something then it might reset the computer and you might have to re reset it yourself. unplug your battery touch positive and negative for 20 seconds then it should work, or if your car is anything like mine, it has to go through 60 miles then resets itself.

thats 1 method.

2. since it isnt your spark plugs, maybe you could try taking out your mass air flow sensor. If it isnt broken then you can try cleaning it with mass air flow spray, maybe there is something clogging it up.

after that you can try checking to see if your throttle body sensor is going since you said it bogs, it could be registering bad air and messing up the computer, try cleaning that out with the spray also.

IF you have been messing with wires (splicing, whatever) then you have to try and find a hole where metal is showing and try re taping it.

This happened to my buddy's car where he was running 16 codes all different everywhere, brought it to the dealership for 5 days they completely tore his car apart and couldnt find anything wrong with it. he brought it to a performance shop and the guy took apart the whole wiring harness and cleaned and checked everything. and it worked fine.

the dealership said he was going to need a new ecu. but that was just poppycock.

let us know how anything goes.
good luck!

Need I say SHITTY. I love cars but they do piss me off. When was the last time you scanned your car? Those could be some old codes and the problems were never properly cleared.
