The Japanese automaker is set to challenge this year's Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship with a lightweight MAZDA MX-5 GT that 'remains true to its roots' but packs more power and performance.

Tipping the scale at just 850 Kg, the MAZDA MX-5 GT has been examined by the race engineering team Jota Sport, who inspected all of the car's components and put them on a diet. The car comes with a protective tubular shell that took 400 hours to build, an adjusted suspension, a 6-speed sequential gearbox and a modified engine which now sits lower and produces 275 bhp.
