your probably getting bad MPG's for other reasons. that would have nothing to do with MPG.

It could mainly be the bad spark plugs you have in your car? i'm sure a tune up would liven her up a bit more. try to change those ASAP. look into the bad belt, i'm not sure which belt it is. but if it's not functioning right, your car isn't performing optimal which could result in bad MPGs.

change your oil and oil filter ASAP, if your slacking on other maintenance and fall back on simple maintenance, you're just doing more damage to your car and it will cost you more money in the long run when you have to flat out buy a new car!

it seems that i may have over tightened the air filter compartment ( the circular thing) as i gave my car the usual weekly once over and now am getting much better mpg,

hay i did not mean to just up and dissapere . but there was an inpending leagal battle over the title to the car ,and i was advised to not make posts reguarding it in public fourms.
but thank god it was settled out of court and every thing is in the clear now. just wanted to update any one who was wondering

and sorry about the halt i posts this has also made it impossible to do any work on the car in the mean time

long story short. room mate has two cars a nice one and what is now mine,
the nice one needed some work ( about 2ks worth at the dealer) my Church friend offered to do the work at cost in exchange for the car ( ended up being about $200)
after the work was done roommate claimed there was no proof the work was done and thus he did not have to keep his end of the bargain. My mistake for not having him sign anything before hand. after a lawyer got involved i got the car. and me and my roommate are cool...ish that kinda thing leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouth and none the less i plan on moving soon

I went the ghetto rout and sanded down the rust then spray painted it...
paint day is a little way off. as i still got the body work to get done first and parts are getting increasingly rare for this car :(
i have been asking around and a coworker's "cuz" paints cars in his home garage but does not paint when it's cold out, ya it does sound a little shady. but I have known this person from taking the bus off and on for a few years. I trust him... I don't know about his cuz tho lol.
maybe I should stay far far away from a garage job?
last I looked macco would be around 1k for a paint job I don't know much about local places although I will be looking in to them here while I wait for the weather to warm up
I'm thinking black with the red interior might look nice
hear friday I should be getting most every thing fixed
spark plugs
valve cover gasket
belts tightned
ingntion lock cylinder
oil change and oil filter

then its time to move the battery in to the trunk and add a short ram. that is if i can get advice on that.

had a lot of fun the other day, freeze plug went, and made beautiful smoke all over the place,
took it to the shop ended up paying 300 for a freeze plug, thermostat and tow .

now i need a new radiator

well i effed some thing up I stupidly tried to repair my hood light when the car was on and i saw pretty sparks and now my running lights and my center console/ dash lights middle break light and , duh, the hood light are not working at all. every other light works fine, I guess basically every light that would go on when I turn on the running lights on is now not working... not a fuse as i checked all of them
any ideas on what i broke here? better yet how to fix it for cheap?
