Default Increase my prices because of an at fault accident?

My insurance company just told me they increased my rates as a result of an at fault incident, however I did not get some sort of ticket for that accident. Is this fair?

It depends... If the accident wasnt witnessed by a police officer then you can't get ticketed.

if you hit a car and no charges were pressed other than insurance had to pay then you get points on to that. it sucks =(
